Welcome to Dongara Telecentre Information Page
Although information technology is an important component of a Telecentre's raison d' être.
Telecentres provide many community services, not just Internet access.
Telecentres provide the services a local community cannot receive on a commercial basis plus rapid access to many state and federal government services such as employment, health, tax and many more.
Many Telecentres act as the local provider for the WA TAFE (Technical and Further Education) system and provide accredited and non-accredited courses through their facilities.
Telecentres are non-profit organisations run by and for the local community. The operations are run on a day-to-day basis by the Telecentre Coordinator who is assisted by volunteers (Telecentre Assistants). An elected management committee is responsible for the financial management of the Telecentre and its policies and direction.
